It has been a long held belief that dragons are evil, terrifying villages, burning them and eating the inhabitants. There are so many stories of dragons being something evil to fear and to vanquish. Many heroes were made in their quest to kill the dragon and save the people.
Dragons are no more evil or terrifying than your animal companion is. They are pure light and love. They are powerful beings of transformation and truth. Dragons have received a bad rap. It is the fear that surfaces when faced with the truth that people relate to, thereby associating dragons with fear.
- The reason why they have scales is to be able to withstand the attack when someone is unable to look within and deal with the truth that they are facing.
- The reason why they have horns, sharp claws and big teeth is to stab, butt, rip, shred and tear into the lower vibrational energies projected at them. The reason why they breathe fire is to transmute the lower vibrations we release.
- The reason why dragons have wings is to sweep away the lower energies around us and to provide protection when needed. They also use their wings to carry us away from our lower vibrations, especially if we do face our truth.
Dragons are not fierce to scare us. They are equipped to deal with whatever comes at them in order to transmute the lower vibrations so that we can allow in love and light in order to be able to see the truth. When we are not ready to deal with our fear, anger or grief, when they surface, we tend to project them out. Emotions are often supressed for a long time before surfacing; therefore, there is force to the projection of those energies. They are so powerful that they can hold the space needed to see the truth and transmute anything in the way of reaching that truth.
Dragons are more than happy to serve as a symbol of something to vanquish just as long as once the dragon dies, you acknowledge that within yourself and vanquish it as well. They want you to be your own hero. However, it is much more powerful and magical to work with the dragon to transmute that part of you that no longer serves.
If you have some trepidation in working with dragons, here is an exercise to try.
Visualize yourself sitting in an open meadow with lots of wildflowers. You feel the warmth of the sun shining on you. Call in Archangel Michael and any other high benevolent being to support you so that you know that you are safe. Call a dragon to come and work with you asking him or her to come in as gently as you need him/her to do so. Notice how the dragon approaches you. Notice the colour and shape. Introduce yourself to the dragon.
If you have any fear surfacing, ask Archangel Michael to take it from you, fully releasing it in his hands and watch him feed it to the dragon. Ask Archangel Michael to replace that energy with courage and feel the courage flow through you. Now ask the dragon for his or her name. Ask how it can support you in shifting illusions to truth. Ask how it is best to work with the dragon.
After chatting a bit, notice how safe you feel with this dragon. Thank the dragon, Archangel Michael and any other being who came in to assist you. Come back to now and congratulate your self in working with a dragon!
I hope that you have gained a new perspective on dragons and have amazing experiences working with them.
